DO I LOVE YOU

Vocalist Diane Hoffman cut her teeth in the Boston area, got musical education in California and honed her craft as a professional in New York. Do I Love You is her third album and it is a pleasing set. The songs swing with the polished large ensemble that includes arranger, pianist Billy Test and drummer/producer Ulysses Owens, Jr. Hoffman rolls with the band swaying with well-articulated warm vocals, always within the lines. Jacob Kelberman does a fine job on guitar with precise solos notably on the title track. We also enjoyed “Small Day Tomorrow”, “Devil May Care”, “Love Dance’” and “Mad About the Boy” with a steaming solo from Daniel Dickinson on tenor sax.
